Il est absurde et d’une arrogance sans égale, de la part de certains chefs d’État africains d’insister qu’aucun citoyen, autre que leur petit cercle autocrate, ne serait capable de diriger une nation.

Hier, c’était une modification constitutionnelle, d’une manière ou d’une autre pour fin de faire réélire des présidents sortants dont la constitution interdit clairement la réélection. C’était le cas au Tchad d’Idriss Deby, au Congo de Denis Sassous Nguesso, au Rwanda de Paul Kagame, au Burundi de Pierre Nkurunziza, et ainsi de suite. Faisant dans quasiment tous ces coups de force constitutionnelle, des centaines de morts, dans l’indifférence la plus royale. Ils seraient sans nul doute, ces fameux présidents divins, des envoyés des cieux pour sortir du gouffre de la misère des peuples démunis ; et ériger leur pays en nations prospères. Aussi beau que les discours politiques, ils ne sont tristement pas des anges, car les divins, pour le seul but de se maintenir au pouvoir ne marcheront pas sur les cadavres de leurs propres concitoyens. 

Aujourd’hui, en Guinée Conakry, c’est au tour d’Alpha Condé, le tout puissant, celui qui est mieux que les étudiants (l’avenir de la Guinée, qu’il traite de « mal éduqués »), de vouloir contre vents et marées, tailler une nouvelle constitution à sa pointure fatiguée afin de s’éterniser au pouvoir, comme si deux mandats étaient insuffisants. Que se reproche-t-il, à ce point, pour ne pas, lui aussi, céder pacifiquement le pouvoir ? Cela, malgré au prix de la vie de ses concitoyens ; contre les principes de la démocratie ; et moralement contraire aux idéologies humanitaires et religieuses pour une personne qui se dit adhérente aux principes religieux les plus basiques, tels que la paix et la compassion.

Un tel soi-disant dirigeant ; des dinosaures obsolètes qui se croient éternels, ne méritent jamais le pouvoir et aucune sympathie des partenaires étrangers qui assurent depuis toujours leur survie politique. L’Afrique éternelle et ses États ont toujours existé, et ne cesseront d’être pour la simple raison qu’un individu inutile soit déchu des fonctions aussi nobles que celle de chef d’État.

Certes, les États africains ont besoin des institutions fortes, plutôt que des hommes qui s’accrochent au pouvoir, sans véritablement rien faire en retour pour leurs pays récalcitrants, mais elle a aussi besoin de fils et filles réellement patriotes, visionnaires et rassembleurs pour une nation émergente qui s’impose naturellement.

Si seulement Alpha Condé était réellement le digne chef d’État qu’il prétend être, il s’offrira une sortie digne par la grande porte de l’histoire, et reconnaîtra qu’il est autant ordinaire, comme tout autre Guinéen. Avec ou sans Alpha Condé, l’administration publique continuera. Cela n’est pas un secret pour personne.

D’ailleurs, il ne peut être fier de son record médiocre pour forcer une modification constitutionnelle. Même avec un record appréciable, il faut le lui dire aussi : le pouvoir, le vrai, est celui donné par le peuple et non pas une farce politique de demi-dieu qui ne peut plus corrompre la vigilance des peuples africains fatigués d’être constamment trahis par ceux qui sont censés être leurs leaders serviteurs.
