Le personnel de la mairie de N’Djamena, capitale du Tchad, observe à partir de ce mardi 15 octobre une grève sèche et illimitée, a appris NDJAMENA 24.

Réuni en assemblée générale, le 5 octobre dernier, le personnel avait lancé un préavis de grève arrivé à terme le lundi 14 octobre, sans issue favorable.

La cause de cette énième grève, trois mois d’arriérés de salaires. Mais aussi, l’hôtel de ville est paralysé depuis des décennies par un dysfonctionnement administratif notoire.

« Suite à l’expiration du préavis de grève des agents de la commune de la ville de N’Djamena, lancé le 7 jusqu’au 14 octobre 2019, il a été décidé en chambre de conseil une grève sèche et illimitée qui commence à partir de ce jour 15 octobre 2019 » ont annoncé les grévistes. 

Une ville pas comme les autres… 

En dépit de plusieurs remaniements de l’exécutif municipal pour corruption, détournement de fonds publics, trafic d’influence, entre autres allégations, la mairie a vu plusieurs fois le retour de ses dirigeants déchus. 

La ville de N’Djamena reste cependant l’une des plus chères en Afrique, en terme de coûts de vie ; elle est tristement aussi, l’une des plus insalubres et se trouve périodiquement sous les eaux en saison pluvieuse. 

Pour résoudre le dysfonctionnement de la mairie, certaines opinions proposent une élection au suffrage universel de tous les exécutifs municipaux et provinciaux, ainsi que des contrats de performance, au lieu du système actuel de nomination fortement politisé dont les résultats sont tous sauf satisfaisants, selon la majorité des populations concernées.
