Au Soudan, l’armée écarte les autorités civiles de la transition

Il a été mis fin à la transition et au processus de démocratisation de l’état soudanais ce lundi 25 octobre. Après plusieurs jours de manifestations houleuses opposant des citoyens pro et anti armée, les militaires ont fini par tranché en leur propre faveur.

La junte militaire dirigée par nul autre que le général Abdel Fattah al-Burhan a immédiatement dissous le gouvernement et le conseil de souveraineté. Plusieurs hauts cadres civils du gouvernement, y compris le premier ministre Abdallah Hamdok, ont été arrêtés et par la suite destitués. Les putschistes ont aussi déclaré l’état d’urgence, alors que plusieurs coups de fusil ont retenti dans la capitale Khartoum.

Selon le témoignage de médecins sur place, il aurait au moins une douzaine de manifestants blessés. Ces derniers, pro démocratie sont descendus dans la rue pour condamner ce qu’ils qualifient de coup d’état militaire.

Le Soudan se plonge ainsi dans une seconde transition après la chute en avril 2019 du régime El Bechir occasionné par un soulèvement populaire, aussitôt récupéré par l’armée. Depuis, un conseil civilo militaire équitablement reparti dirige le pays. Mais ce lundi, l’armée a unilatéralement décidé de mettre fin à ce partage de pouvoir. Elle promet des élections libres en fin 2023.

Toutefois, les condamnations internationales contre ce deuxième putsch de l’armée se multiplient.
