Le coronavirus a affranchi les frontières du Tchad, a annoncé le gouvernement tchadien dans un communiqué ce 19 mars 2020.

“Il s’agit d’un passager de nationalité marocaine en provenance de Douala” indique ledit communiqué. C’est le premier cas de la pandémie enregistré au Tchad.

La Cameroun voisin, l’un des pays de l’Afrique les plus frappés par la pandémie, a déjà enregistre une 13 cas.

“Le gouvernement en appelle au respect strict de toutes les mesures prises en particulier celles relatives aux règles usuelles d’hygiène et d’assainissement.” conclut le communiqué.
