Covid-19 : l’UE appuie le Tchad avec 10 milliards de FCFA.

C’est dans la perspective de mieux faire face à la pandémie à Coronavirus que le Tchad bénéficie de 10 milliards de FCFA, octroyés par l’Union Européenne.

Ce financement permettra au Tchad de mieux mettre en œuvre son plan de riposte contre la pandémie, tout en évitant de s’endetter. Il pourra par la même occasion investir dans d’autres secteurs clés outre que la santé qui demandent une attention particulière des autorités.

En réalité, le Tchad n’est pas le seul pays à bénéficier du soutien financier européen. le Niger, la Mauritanie et le Burkina Faso font partie des bénéficiaires. Bref, ce sont quatre (4) pays du Sahel qui sont appuyés par l’UE. Ceux-ci cumulent 13 285 cas confirmés de Covid-19, selon le dernier bilan de l’Union Africaine, relayé par Ecomnews Afrique. De ce financement, le Niger reçoit la plus grande partie. Il aura 44,8 millions de dollars, le Burkina Faso 30 millions de dollars, le Tchad 20 millions de dollars, le reste revient à la Mauritanie. « Aujourd’hui nous réitérons notre engagement à renforcer notre mobilisation pour le Sahel dans sa lutte contre la pandémie. Au-delà d’une réponse à court terme visant à répondre aux besoins urgents des populations, notre objectif est aussi, d’ores et déjà de réduire les répercussions économiques et sociales de la pandémie dont l’Afrique en général et le Sahel en particulier risquent de souffrir de façon disproportionnée », a justifié Joseph Borrel, le haut représentant et vice-président de l’Union Européenne.
