Tchad | Élections 2021 : les commissaires de la CNDH se forment en observation électorale

La Commission Électorale Nationale Indépendante [CENI] en partenariat avec le PNUD-Tchad organisent depuis ce matin à N’Djamena une formation axée sur l’observation électorale et les violations des droits de l’Homme commises pendant cette période. Ce sont les commissaires de la Commission Nationale des Droits de l’Homme (CNDH) qui bénéficient de cette formation qui prendra fin demain 18 novembre 2020.

À l’approche des prochaines échéances électorales de 2021, la CNDH, La CENI et le PNUD n’ont pas occulté l’impérieuse nécessité de faire former les commissaires de la CNDH sur l’observation électorale. Ces derniers pourront grâce à cette initiative s’imprégner du cadre légal des élections et de s’outiller de bons dispositifs d’observation. Pour le Président de la CENI, Kodi Mahamat, les commissaires « devraient mettre un accent tout particulier sur la situation des droits de l’Homme » durant le processus électoral, car « celle-ci doit faire de votre part l’objet d’une attention spécifique tout au long de la période » a-t-il dit.

Le Président de la CNDH quant à lui, Djidda Oumar Mahamat, promet que son institution veillera au respect des valeurs démocratiques pendant la période électorale. « Elle entend mener de nombreuses actions lors du processus électoral afin de renforcer son caractère démocratique et apaisé ». Le représentant adjoint du PNUD, Stéphane Kimloch Pichot a lui aussi promis de mener des plaidoyers pour le bon déroulement des élections.

Au sortir de cette formation, les commissaires de la CNDH formeront à leur tour une centaine d’observateurs qui seront répartis sur l’ensemble du territoire national.
